HELLYEAH Frontman Teams Up With NCADV In Fight Against Domestic Violence
March 7, 2011HELLYEAH frontman Chad Gray and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) are asking fans to help make a pledge to take a stand against domestic violence. In the clip below, Gray talks about the band's new video for the track "Better Man" and how fans can get the chance to hang with him to help spread the awareness against domestic violence.
The "Better Man" video can be viewed below. According to a press release, "This song is incredibly personal to Chad, and this video adds an incredible visual component to an already lyrically powerful song that deals with the pains of domestic violence."
Commented Gray: "I just wanted to take a minute and talk about the lyrics to 'Better Man', and what the song means to me.
"The lyrics, to me, are obviously very personal.
"I believe in being honest.
"It took a long time for me to really kind of face it. I've touched on it in the past, or whatever, but I never really put it out like this.
"'Better Man' allows people to know that they're not alone in these types of situations. Maybe they can learn from their own situation but maybe they can learn through myself. I've been dealing with it for many, many years. We're talking, ya know, little kid. Maybe they can get something out of it.
"I know that it's not necessarily everybody's situation, but I think that everybody knows somebody and they can relate to it."
"Better Man" comes off HELLYEAH's sophomore album, "Stampede", which sold 28,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart.
HELLYEAH's self-titled debut CD opened with 45,000 units back in April 2007 to land at No. 9.
The "super deluxe" edition of "Stampede" features the album itself, a bonus DVD, a limited-edition lenticular 3D cover with an expanded booklet, a HELLYEAH bull skull, instant downloads of the album tracks "Cowboy Way" and "Hell Of A Time" and an MP3 download of the full album. The standard "deluxe edition" contains the album, a bonus DVD, instant downloads of the album tracks "Cowboy Way" and "Hell Of A Time" and an MP3 download of the full album.
The band last year shot music videos for "Hell Of A Time" and "Cowboy Way" at the Longhorn Saloon in Fort Worth, Texas.
